Lonsdale, who was previously the business development director, will have overall planning responsibility across the company, reporting to managing director James Copley.

The appointment is one of several promotions in Kinetic’s planning team, including the promotion of former group account directors Oliver Ford and Adrian Skelton to the role of business director, a newly-created level within Kinetic that will see both focus on growing relationships with GroupM and direct clients.

Lucy Catchpole, former senior account director, is promoted to group account director with responsibility for Mindshare. Simon Russell, also a former senior account director, is promoted to group account director for MEC and Maxus, while former account manager Nicola White becomes senior account manager.

Copley said: "We always ask ourselves how we can do things differently to provide best-in-class service for our clients. We’re confident that this new structure puts us in the right place to deliver on this. Nicole’s out-of-home experience and her commitment to Kinetic’s clients will ensure cohesion across our planning team and provide unrivalled quality of client support. The other promotions will give our clients the best access to the most appropriate out-of-home opportunities."

Lonsdale started her  career as a buyer with Posterscope, moving to Mindshare Outdoor as account director and then head of outdoor. She joined Kinetic in 2007.
