In his new role, Shaw will be responsible for providing digital and social media strategy and digital research across a range of Kitcatt Nohr's clients, including Waitrose, Lexus and WWF-UK.
He will report to Lazar Dzamic, the agency's digital planning director.
Shaw began his career at The Shrimala Trust, where he was responsible for strategic planning and running the charity's day-to-day operations.
He then set up True Dream Enterprises in 2006, a not-for-profit organisation based in India.
Kitcatt Nohr has made a number of digital appointments in recent months. In October, it hired Angus Mackinnon as its new digital creative director from Nike, and also appointed Kevin Bolton and Ian Kaye as digital project managers.
Shaw said: "My aim in my new role is to bring to bear on our client's websites more than just classic information architecture. We need to combine that discipline with consumer insight to drive actual sales."
