Kraft Jacobs Suchard, the European arm of Kraft Foods

International, has rejigged its senior marketing personnel to improve

pan-European brand building.

Three managers, Phillippe Vander Putten, Doug Burns and Thibaud de

Saint-Quentin, will become vice-presidents of strategy and business

development, with responsibility for pan-European marketing and the

overall development of KJS’s confectionery, coffee and cheese/grocery

businesses.

Vander Putten was previously area director for KJS Benelux, Burns was

general manager for KJS Sweden and Saint-Quentin was vice-president

marketing cheese/grocery for KFI.

The news follows a period of uncertainty for the business after a 5%

year-on-year fall in sales for the first quarter of 1997, and the July

departure of three top marketers: Albert Freese, Walter Struwe and Gerry

Reed.
