After only seven months as chief marketing officer at Telegraph Media, Fahy was poached by Ladbrokes in October to lead its marketing operations, as it forges ahead with a proposed merger with Coral. Presumably, his employers were attracted by his five-year stint as marketing chief at competitor William Hill, during which he doubled the brand’s market capitalisation, making it the UK’s number-one bookie.This no-nonsense marketer is open about the fact that he wants to be CEO one day, but, in the meantime, his focus is squarely on maximising marketing spend at Ladbrokes and growing the long-term, loyal customer base to hit ambitious targets.
