Doner Cardwell Hawkins has poached Gotham’s managing partner, Ali

Large, to beef up its management team.

Taking the title of vice-chairman, business development, Large will work

closely with Donna Nicholson, the agency’s new-business director. The

sole responsibility given to Large will be for growing the agency’s

portfolio and she will not work on any specific accounts.

Large has been at Gotham for four years since its launch in 1994 as a

separate Interpublic creative agency, affiliated to Lowe

Howard-Spink.

Having started out as client services director, she was promoted to the

post of managing partner in 1996.

Andrew Hawkins, Doner Cardwell’s managing director, said: ’Ali joins at

an exciting time for the agency. We have grown considerably and her role

will be to ensure that we continue to grow. She brings to the agency a

huge amount of enthusiasm, energy and experience. We are really looking

forward to her joining the team.’

Large said: ’It’s sad to be leaving Gotham, especially as I was there at

the start, but I feel this is such a fantastic opportunity. Part of my

job is to develop new business, but I’ll also look at the way we target

new clients. I want to make the agency bigger and better known.’

Large will work alongside Doner Cardwell’s management team, which

includes Paul Cardwell, the creative director, and Andrew Hawkins, the

managing director.
