lastminute.com, the innovative UK ecommerce travel company, has appointed two senior directors to help manage and develop the business across Europe.
Stephan Uhrenbacher and Laurent Therezien have been appointed as heads of Northern and Southern Europe respectively. The appointments underscores lastminute.com's rapid growth in Germany and France and its plans to expand aggressively in Continental Europe.
Uhrenbacher joins lastminute.com as head of Northern Europe. Previously, he was vice president of G+J Electronic Media Service, the largest online media group in Germany and founder and managing director of the TravelChannel.de, both subsidiaries of Bertelsmann.
He will be responsible for the expansion of lastminute.com in Germany, Scandinavia and Benelux, three of Europe's most wired markets.
Therezien joins lastminute.com from Club Med, where he was responsible for tour operating strategy and acquisitions, business development and managing a network of 23 travel agencies. Prior to Club Med, he worked at McKinsey and Company.
