Laurence Green to chair Campaign Big Awards 2009

The Campaign Big Awards 2009 launch this week to once again recognise fresh work across the communications spectrum.

This year, neither the cost of entry nor the cost of the dinner will be more than last. Also, Campaign will be awarding campaigns across 12 product categories, as well as single executions.

Finally, Campaign is proud to introduce The Paul Arden Award to mark the memory of the former executive creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi.

The Arden Award will celebrate innovative thinking in commercial communication regardless of media or spend.

Laurence Green, the chairman of Fallon, will chair the awards, and individual panel chairs will cover six main media channels: digital, direct, outdoor, press, radio and TV/cinema.

Green said: "The Campaign Big Awards does exactly what it says on the tin and a whole lot more besides. By calling for the best work from any media, it allows us to celebrate ideas originating right across the new creative canvas."

Donald Gunn, the creator of The Gunn Report, said: "The Big Awards bring in a lot of new work which won't have been seen before. And, anything that simplifies things is great for agencies."
