Hene took the marketing helm at Ocado in January 2012 as the online grocery delivery service entered a new phase in its development. It has struck a deal with Morrisons to launch online shopping for the supermarket in 2014.
This year, Hene, a former OC&C consultant with a doctorate in biochemistry, has created a marketing tie-up between Ocado and media-owner Northern & Shell. It sponsored Channel 5’s Big Brother and will run activity through other N&S properties such as OK! Magazine. Hene is trying to show that Ocado delivers for everybody, not just better-off customers.
