Between The Lines: Guinness has the right idea

Guinness' decision to return to its classic advertising past might seem like an admittance of defeat after a series of rather perplexing and surreal ads.

Critics will claim the latest Guinness ads simply haven't worked and that it is being forced to resurrect past glories. But the return of the toucan and the "good things come..." line represent a brave recognition of the power of its advertising past. What's more, it's a confident client that doesn't pursue the constant reinvention of his company's communications simply for the sake of it.
