Between the Lines: Omnicom rewards Thomas

The promotion of Proximity's Chris Thomas to chairman and chief executive of BBDO Asia shows how important integration is to Omnicom (page 1).

His career includes stints at Lowe and Abbott Mead Vickers, and Thomas will take a through-the-line approach to Asia, where chinks in BBDO's armour were exposed during the HSBC pitch.

He leaves Proximity with better integrated credentials and strong links with AMV. Cilla Snowball's appointment as chairman of both agencies proves this is where Omnicom wants it to be.
