Between the Lines: Taking it to the next i-level

ILG Digital, the holding company behind i-level, has signalled its intention to expand by hiring the former PHD founder and chief David Pattison (page 1).

His task is to take a successful company, which has billings of around £80 million and employs 120 people, on to the next stage. Diversifying into creative and building a presence on the ground in international markets are two options.

It is interesting that, for the time being, i-level is going it alone with these expansion plans. It says that it has the resource to do it and that so far it has yet to be sold a convincing strategy for the future of the business by a major ad group suitor.

Much will now depend on Pattison's vision and energy, but there seems little reason to doubt that he can move the company on.
