Between the Lines: Weekly war in the cinemas

The magazine publishing business is in thrall to fashion. No sooner have Emap and IPC created a men's weekly magazine market than weekly magazines have become the new black/brown/green, etc. Now the two publishers are squaring up for another weekly fight: weekly movie titles. Cinema purists will wonder what on earth they will fill their pages with, so expect a fair dollop of Hollywood celebrity gossip to provide the padding. That, at least, is comfortingly old hat.
