Lowdown This polarising former client has the thankless job of

relaunched as Cedar. New-business wins included TUI, CII, Eurostar and
the biggest account win of 2003 - Tesco. Looking forward to adding lots
more milestones with Cedar in the future.
What one principle in life do you live by? Always try.
What advice would you give someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Being very determined can get you a long way. Don't be put off by making
mistakes, learn the lesson and press on. And volunteer for the tough
jobs - you'll get noticed.
Your alternative career? Something in politics or law, maybe.
Name your three closest friends in the business This is too

How do you unwind? Being a dad. Outdoor life.
What is your greatest extravagance? Buying an in-car CD player that cost
more than my car is worth (not very much).
Name one thing about yourself that might surprise others I have a
passion for chainsaws.
If you were an ad, what would your strapline be? "Does exactly what it
says on the tin."
Lowdown Rastelli has helped to raise Cedar's status when it could easily
shrink behind its larger sibling, Redwood. He's a countryman, with a
penchant for chainsaws. His name can be attributed to his Italian, West
Country and Scottish roots.

Lowdown One of the famous French KR Media "twins" (see Bruno Kemoun's
entry), whose seismic departure from Aegis Media Europe was announced
with a short statement on 5 November last year. Rebbouh comes across as
more cerebral and intellectual - the research one. Kemoun is more
bombastic, the trader. Both are as driven and well-connected as they
come. No wonder Martin Sorrell wanted a stake in their new venture.

If you were an ad, what would your strapline be? "Ever Reddy, rough and

Lowdown The ultimate art director, Reddy couldn't look more like an

A-class print agency.
[xyz]REINHARD, KEITH

Work tel 212 415 3028.
Born 20 January 1935
Place of birth Berne, Indiana.
Lives Manhattan.
Family Wife, Rose-Lee. Seven children, four grandchildren.
Career milestones 1964: Finally getting a job in an advertising agency
(after trying unsuccessfully for ten years). 1970-75: winning the
McDonald's account and creating the "you deserve a break today"
campaign, named one of the top five best of the century by Ad Age and
best jingle of the century.
1986: forming Omnicom with Allen Rosenshine and others. 1997: winning
back McDonald's in the US after 15 years of trying. 1986-2000: building
and leading DDB Worldwide.
What one principle in life do you live by? Success is not about what you
get but what you give.
What advice would you give someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Persistence and determination. "Nothing in the world can take the place
of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than
unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is
almost a proverb.
Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." - Calvin Coolidge.

If you were an ad, what would your strapline be? "Press on!"
Lowdown Reinhard created the "you deserve a break today" campaign for
McDonald's when he was a copywriter in the 70s but he only broke into
advertising after ten years of trying. His enduring energy means the DDB
network boss, Ken Kaess, is likely to have DDB's pater familias in place
for a while yet.

Lowdown One of the most formidable forces in newspaper sales, Rhodes has

Lowdown All of the businesslike Rickard's hard work paid off last year
when Posterscope went from strength to strength. With new accounts such
as COI Communications, it is now the undisputed champion of the outdoor
specialists. Even if WPP chooses to take its newly acquired MediaCom out
of the Posterscope mix, it is miles ahead of its rivals in scale.
Rickard must surely find this gratifying.

2004: relaunched agency as FCB London.
What one principle in life do you live by? Don't do anything by halves.
What advice would you give someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Be honest and decent to everyone you meet. Don't try to be something
you're not. Hunt out the most difficult challenges in your agency and
volunteer yourself to crack them. Speak your mind. Work hard, play
harder.
Your alternative career? Thank Christ I got a job in advertising because

she is beautiful but extremely high maintenance.
Name one thing about yourself that might surprise others The karaoke
voice of an angel.
If you were an ad, what would your strapline be? "I ate all the pies."
Lowdown Rigby was understandably stung by that put-down quote from a
Lowe senior executive when he left to become managing director of what
is now FCB London. Has a way to travel in terms of experience but makes
up for it with bags of enthusiasm and ambition. Faces a testing time
raising FCB out of mediocrity.

Our tenth anniversary coincided with us winning a Sony gold for Heart

worse than a few flat tyres.

Lowdown His unorthodox management style belies Roberts' reputation as
Procter & Gamble's favourite adman. In common with P&G, he believes in
strong branding, whether for himself or for Saatchis. His flowery
e-mails often provoke much mirth but he is a skilled motivator. Well
known for his liberal use of industrial language.

Lowdown Roberts makes his first appearance in The A List following his
