The pitch: A new style of chicken restaurant serving gourmet copper buckets of fried chicken. It opened just off Columbia Road in November last year.

Spaces to hire: Owned by four cousins who wanted to turn fried chicken and its connotations upside down, the space has a modern, minimalist feel with a monochrome colour palette. It can be hired in its entirety for up to 90 guests seated or 150 standing. Fashion designers Simone Rocha and Gareth Pugh are designing a secret garden, set to open this summer.

The Big Easy

The pitch: The American-style barbecue restaurant and bar opened in Covent Garden in March in a former electric power station.

Spaces to hire: Set over three floors, the venue's interior honours the building's heritage, retaining authentic features such as copper conduits, brickwork and steel and concrete girders. The Bull Inn Court offers space for up to 50 guests to dine, while the lower-ground floor has 117 covers. The whole restaurant can be hired exclusively for up to 300 guests.

Don't miss: The nine-metre-long bar boasting more than 500 different spirits, and cocktail machines dispensing frozen slushies.

Coya

The pitch: The Peruvian restaurant, members' club and bar is housed in an impressive Georgian building in Mayfair.

Spaces to hire: The venue is split across two levels. Downstairs is a 90-cover restaurant with an open ceviche bar and grill, and a bar serving a range of pisco-based cocktails with space for 22 people. The ground-level members' lounge with its high ceilings and natural daylight provides further space for 80 guests standing, while the chef's table offers dining entertainment for 30.

One Canada Square

The pitch: Situated on the ground floor of the building from which it takes its name, this restaurant and bar features a modern European menu from ex-Ivy Club head chef Jamie Dobbin. It opened in November last year.

Spaces to hire: The mezzanine level, with its own private bar overlooking the lobby, can accommodate up to 32 guests for a dinner or 80 for a drinks reception. A grand staircase links the space to the other section of the restaurant, with its Art Deco-reminiscent decor and seating inspired by vintage cars. On Sundays, the whole venue can be exclusively hired for up to 250 guests.

Mazi

The pitch: This intimate Greek restaurant in Notting Hill aims to demonstrate how innovative, tasty and refined Greek food can be.

Spaces to hire: The restaurant is available to hire exclusively for lunch, dinner or evening parties, seating a maximum of 80 guests. The decor has a homely feel with old photographs, casual seating and tiled white walls, along with produce crates and open storage cubes showing an array of Greek wares. In the summer months, guests can make use of the back garden with its hanging vines, increasing the capacity to 100.

Chotto Matte

The pitch: The Soho drinking and dining den serves a combination of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine known as nikkei, the latest gastronomic sensation sweeping Europe.

Spaces to hire: There are two floors, the ground floor housing an expansive cocktail lounge featuring a curved bar cut from lava stone, and the first floor containing the restaurant with an open 'robata' grill. Each has a capacity of 200 covers. A separate raised section on the ground floor can be roped off for up to 100 guests standing, or the whole venue can be hired for 300.
