The programme, which was unveiled at the Museum of London last week, aims to encourage leading figures in the medical and science sectors to bring their congresses and events to the city.

Speaking at the event, Kit Malthouse, chairman of London & Partners and deputy Mayor of London for business and enterprise, said: "London has a long history as a place of medical and scientific discovery. This hugely important sector is one of the Mayor’s upmost priorities for the city and as such we are driving forward an ambitious programme of investment and infrastructure into London’s life sciences eco-system, underlined by the opening of the Francis Crick Institute in 2015."

Gordon Innes, chief executive of London & Partners, added: "By launching this initiative we are recognising the vital role that our industry leaders play in promoting the great city of London on the global stage.

"Through this exclusive programme we are not only creating a city-wide network of expertise, we are working in partnership with senior professionals and academics to raise London’s profile internationally and help attract industry events and congresses to this city of innovation and expertise."
