Loot Group is offering the opportunity to advertise in a new
government-backed annual guide for school leavers.
The publication, The Guide to Life 2000, will provide information for
16-year-olds on a variety of subjects from banks to fashion. The A5
publication will launch next March with plans to go on-line later in the
year.
The Guide to Life 2000, a joint venture between Loot Group and publisher
Adam Winterflood, will be distributed free via schools to six million
16-year-olds. The total readership is expected to exceed 1.8
million.
Mike Cowley-Freeman heads the four-strong Loot sales team charged with
obtaining the ads.
Their strategy has involved approaching media buyers and marketing
departments direct, often using one-to-one presentations.
A full-page ad in the new guide will cost pounds 15,000 plus VAT, with a
half page coming in at pounds 4,500 excluding VAT. Prime Minister Tony
Blair has agreed to write the foreword in the guide .
Winterflood said: 'There is no other publication that can claim to reach
all 16-year-olds and therefore the opportunities for marketers targeting
this age group are immense. We are also in the process of negotiating to
go online with The Guide 2000 soon after the March launch.'
