Loot.com selects Doubleclick

- Loot.com, the free online classified advertisement service, has appointed DoubleClick to handle its online advertising sales in the UK.

Loot.com generates approximately nine million page views per month and on a daily basis it posts more than 150,000 items for consumers to either buy or bid for. At any one time it claims its online products are worth a cumulative £3 million.

The partnership with DoubleClick should enable loot.com to maximise its online ad sales revenues while leaving its internal resources free to concentrate on further building the content of the site.

Debra McLeod, commercial director at loot.com, said: "Whilst loot.com's business model centres around classified ads it is only in the last 12 months that we have capitalised on selling banner ads. In order to maximise and manage sales of online advertising it has become necessary for us to use the expertise of DoubleClick."
