M&C Saatchi's MacLennan, who may rightly think of himself as the George Clooney of the ad industry, is going to judge whether we are romantics at heart in a competition the IPA is running. Anyone who has ever questioned the point of the ad trade body should be stunned into silence at that news.
The IPA wants to know whether romance is still alive in this (at times) heartless business. If sleazy, drug-fuelled office shenanigans can be described as romantic, then Diary would say the answer to that is an emphatic "yes". Nonetheless, the IPA wants to hear your love stories and is asking members to send them to firstname.lastname@example.org by 3 February. We'd advise you to keep it clean - the two winners get their stories published (and win a bottle of Champagne each).
