Hornby Hobbies has appointed Lowe Howard-Spink to handle the
advertising account for its famous Scalectrix and Hornby Railways brands
as it prepares to put pounds 2 million behind them this year.
Hornby’s account was previously handled by Keith Shafto Associates and
spent pounds 750,000 last year.
Lowes’ first work will support the 1998 Christmas market. Western
International Media, Lowes’ media arm, has also picked up the media
account from the incumbent, TMD Carat.
Tim Lindsay, Lowes’ chief executive, said: ’It is wonderful to have the
chance to develop advertising for the two brands. Both have huge
potential and we look forward to working with the company to build its
business in the UK and international markets.’
Peter Newey, Hornby Hobbies’ chairman, said: ’We look forward to
developing innovative strategies and communications plans to drive the
regeneration of the business.’
