M&B triumphs at Campaign Media Awards 2002

LONDON - Michaelides & Bednash has won Media Campaign of the Year for Channel 4's Indian Summer at the Campaign Media Awards.

With 4creative, the campaign, which was awarded the gold, boosted cricket audiences by more than 18%. It used a diverse range of media including live events and newsagents' windows, which also won it Best Total Communications Programme.

David Yelland, the editor of The Sun, was named Media Achiever of the Year for his contribution in boosting the title's circulation.

Emap scooped Most Dynamic Media Company for its re-admittance to the FTSE 100 index and ability to innovate within its portfolio.

Campaign also gave awards to individual sales teams in 2002. Emap Creative Solutions won Print Sales Team; Viacom Brand Solutions won Broadcast Sales Team and JCDecaux scooped Outdoor Sales Team of the Year.

Jonathan Durden, the chairman of the judges and PHD's chairman, described the presentations by the sales teams as "spirited and inspiring" and singled out Emap Creative Solutions as "worthy of particular praise for being so creatively consistent".
