M&C Saatchi is moving its media director, Andrew Sherman, and its
team of media planners into Walker Media as the joint-venture media
company prepares to open for business on 1 January.
Walker Media, in which M&C Saatchi has a 50 per cent stake, will take on
the seven media planners now based at the creative agency from this
week.
At the same time, Sherman, who joined M&C Saatchi in 1995 from Bartle
Bogle Hegarty as media planner, and was promoted to media director at
the beginning of this year, will join Walker Media as a founding
director. Beneath Sherman, two planning teams will be headed by Josh
Fuller and Nicki Hare.
The M&C Saatchi media planning department will continue to serve
existing clients, including British Airways and Sainsbury’s Bank, but
will work out of Walker Media.
David Kershaw, a partner at M&C Saatchi, said: ’The move will allow the
agency to provide increased resource in planning, which has been
welcomed by our clients.’
The restructure gives Walker Media a rounded planning operation and a
base of staff and clients from which to launch in the new year.
Last week, Zenith Media announced that Phil Georgiadis, the chief
executive of Initiative Media, would be joining as a partner.
