M&C overtakes Saatchis in billing battle

LONDON - M&C Saatchi has overtaken its old enemy Saatchi & Saatchi in the latest billings figures from AC Neilsen MMS.

M&C Saatchi has risen from eighth place to sixth, overtaking Saatchi & Saatchi which has fallen from fifth place to seventh.

However, M&C will have to fight to retain its position as the billings include the Sainsbury TV account, which has since moved to Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, as well as advertising for Rover, which has curtailed its advertising over the past few months.

M&C Saatchi was founded in 1995 when Maurice and Charles Saatchi were ousted from Saatchi & Saatchi, the agency they founded 30 years ago.
