M&C Saatchi may set up a public affairs consultancy to be headed by
Steve Hilton, the Conservative Party’s senior account man in the run-up
to the general election.
With the party set to split with the agency in the wake of its election
defeat, it is likely Hilton will be put in charge of a newly created
Reports earlier this week stating Hilton was leaving to launch a
start-up were denied by the agency.
’It is possible that we might set Steve up in a public affairs
consultancy,’ David Kershaw, one of the agency’s founding partners,
He added: ’At the moment the plan has not got beyond the thinking stage
and any launch may still be some months away.’
Hilton, who is understood to have parliamentary ambitions, is a former
Conservative Research Department assistant who worked on the Tories’
1992 and 1997 election campaigns.
