Silverjet hired M&C Saatchi - whose management had held the BA account for 23 years, first at Saatchi & Saatchi - to create the ad and film it in the same locations as the original.
The ad, which breaks on Saturday, was directed by Hugh Hudson, who directed the BA spot, and features the same soundtrack, Delibes' Flower Duet from Lakme.
Like the BA ad, it shows travellers and crew in exotic locations meeting to form an aerial shot of a face. But to highlight the airline's exclusivity, it uses four people instead of BA's 600.
