M&C Saatchi team nets February Aerial

The M&C Saatchi team Mark Goodwin and Tiger Savage has won the February Aerial Award for best radio ad.

Their "pussycat" spot to support the ITV1 drama Wild at Heart was judged best commercial of the month by David Alexander, the creative director of Isobel.

Runners-up for the Aerial Award, run in association with Campaign, were Stuart Harkness and Darren Wright of Wieden & Kennedy for their Pizza Hut "pole vault" commercial and Robert Messeter and Michael Crowe at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R for a Virgin Trains spot called "package".

The winning ad features the sound of what is apparently a female cat.

Her miaows gradually escalate into full-throated jungle-cat growls.

Alexander said: "These were the simplest ads of the month and had the time to do the idea justice."

The winning ad and runners-up can be heard at www. aerialsfoundation.co.uk.
