The festival is replacing GuilFest, which ran for 21 years at Stoke Park before its organisers Scotty Events went into liquidation in 2012.

The event, staged by Live Nation and Bauer-owned London radio station Magic 105.4, will also include performances from James Morrison, Joss Stone, Squeeze, Level 42, Soul II Soul, The Overtones and Kim Wilde.

In addition to the festival's main stage, the West End stage will showcase performances from popular musicals and shows, with more details to be announced soon.

Live Nation said it wants to ensure that local businesses and talent are well served by the event. An initiative is being put into place to encourage many local and independent businesses from Guildford to trade on the site.

Magic 105.4 breakfast show presenter Neil Fox said: "This is going to be an amazing weekend. Some of my favourite acts who are all fantastic live, playing at a beautiful new location for Magic Summer Live. Roll on summer."
