Maher Bird Associates is launching its first work for the internet
gaming company, UR wired.com.
The pounds 1 million campaign stars a fat bald man who takes on the
personas of games characters and picks fights with the unlikeliest
people. His lack of success reinforces the message that gaming is best
conducted from the armchair. The endline is: ’If gaming is your world,
it’s best you stay at home.’ The ad will run on terrestrial and
satellite TV, supported by ads in the men’s and computer press.
The campaign, which will break next week, was written, art directed and
directed by Martin Pierson at Maher Bird through the production company,
Tele-An. Media is handled by John Ayling & Associates.
This week the UK MSN Gaming Zone and the online games magazine, GameSpot
UK, picked UR wired.com as the exclusive retail link for their websites.
