- Major League Baseball, the organisation responsible for running baseball in the US, has appointed Vigilante, the New York-based urban marketing arm of Leo Burnett, and Waylon Cos, St. Louis, to jointly handle its estimated $15 million advertising account.

The appointments follows the departure of incumbent agency Lowe & Partners/SMS, New York, earlier this year.

Vigilante has been briefed to handle fan retention, advertising and event marketing for the 8 April celebration that will mark the 25th anniversary of Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth's home run record. Waylon will handle MLB's Boys & Girls Clubs campaign.

The work from both shops will form part of MLB's in-game advertising inventory, running next season on Fox Sports, ESPN and NBC.
