Manpower, the world’s biggest employment services group, has picked
the Publicis group to handle its advertising, backed by a reported
multi-million-pound budget.
The appointment follows a four-way pitch announced last month. It ends
Manpower’s ten-year association with GGT and marks the start of a major
TV, press and direct marketing initiative.
The business will be handled jointly by the Publicis agency and Publicis
Dialog, the group subsidiary set up earlier this year to broaden its
direct marketing operation.
The group’s pitch, led by its chairman, Rick Bendel, and Fred Kuys, who
heads the Dialog operation, was presented to Manpower’s joint UK
managing directors, Maureen Muffling and Maggie Bell, and its marketing
chief, Deborah Wylie.
Kuys commented: ’Manpower felt our approach to the brief was better than
anyone else’s and was impressed by our experience of service
industries.’
