Maria Sebastian

Director of worldwide sales and marketing

Virgin Atlantic

Performing arts, dance and economics might seem odd bedfellows, but they are the subjects that Sebastian combined at university, and all inform her approach to business. Fast approaching two decades in the airline industry, Sebastian has had a busy past year – highlights include celebrating Virgin Atlantic’s 30th anniversary, dressing cabin crew in new Vivienne Westwood-designed uniforms and forging a partnership with Delta Air Lines. Speculation earlier this year that 49% stakeholder Delta would phase out the Virgin Atlantic brand was instantly quashed by Virgin’s chief executive, Craig Kreeger. The airline has just welcomed the new Dreamliner aircraft to its fleet, and will add a total of 17 over the next few years. It seems highly unlikely Virgin, or Sebastian for that matter, will disappear off the map.
