Evans took a leading role in the business’ transformation following its IPO in 2013, with a remit to persuade consumers to think differently about insurance and make decisions on customer service rather than price. He was the man who gave the green light to the punchy Harvey Keitel ads, which reprise the actor’s Winston Wolf character from Pulp Fiction. He’s particularly proud of the way that the entire business has embraced the service-led ethos, as evidenced by the fact that Direct Line was named "most empathetic company globally" on Twitter in a recent Lady Geek poll. "This indicates how the brand repositioning has flowed through the whole company," he says.
