What with controversial new livery and unhappy cabin staff, BA’s
Bob Ayling is a busy man.
However, there is no excuse for allowing your correspondence to get on
top of you - a fact heartily endorsed by Simon Marquis, Marketing’s
editorial director, who wrote to the great man in May inviting him to
speak at our annual management conference on July 17.
Last Monday, just three days before the conference, a letter finally
arrived from Speedbird House (and with speed like that, who needs a push
bike?) declining our kind invitation.
Ayling was, naturally, frightfully nice about it but very much regretted
that he would not be free on the afternoon in question. Other things on
your mind, Bob?
