MARKETING MIX: Pen portrait - Julian Treasure, Just Customer Communication

Julian Treasure is chairman and founder of Just Customer Communication, (formerly TPD), which was acquired by IPG last July. Julian is also a director of the Periodical Publishers Association.

Ah-ha, this one has a foible or three judging by this somewhat idiosyncratic scribing.

The fact he wrote on lined paper made me screw up my face in despair as the (hopefully) invisible line the writing rests on can give away a lot about the writer's thinking.

He's worked at that signature (public self) though - it is more a monogram than a name to be read and looks quite different from the rest of his writing (private self), all of which is a pointer to his having to 'rise to the occasion' when in public garb.

In the highly creative category, he is inspired and individualistic.

A penetrating and intuitive thinker with the ability to size up people and situations very quickly, he makes highly unusual links between letters (see the join between the 'i' dot and the 'a' in the word Blackfriars) which mirror his unusual thinking.

If you want to find a 'different' way of doing something then this is the guy to go to.
