Ruddles has revived its ’Are you ready for a Ruddles?’ slogan after

a six-year break.

The line appears in the first new work by Marshall Advertising for

Ruddles Strong County Ale since it won the account from BST-BDDP late

last year.

The press-only campaign changes the proposition’s old emphasis,

challenging people to try the unusual drink by illustrating the frame of

mind a drinker should be in to ’ready’ himself for his pint.

One of the three executions shows two shots of a man meditating under

the revived slogan, while the third picture shows him levitating under

the line: ’I’m ready.’

The pounds 250,000 campaign breaks on Friday in quality national

newspapers.

The ads were written by George Theo and art directed by Bill Bungay. The

photographer was Jimmy Wormser.

Ruddles’ marketing man-ager, Justine Fosh, said: ’The ads target a new,

younger market by expressing the notion of ’readiness’. More than

anything, this is about a certain attitude.’
