Ed Mason, the former chief executive of Claydon Heeley Jones Mason,
is joining the London-based agency HHM as chairman.
Mason, who left Claydon Heeley earlier this year, will work on
developing ideas for HHM's current and future direction. HHM, launched
six years ago as a direct marketing agency, now works across
advertising, sales promotion, direct marketing and online.
David McCann, HHM's founder and chairman, is to move to the role of
managing director to focus on the day-to-day running, new business and
client servicing of the agency.
Mason's role will be to work on strategic development as the agency
attempts to grow from its current staff of 58 to 100.
Mason was a founder of BMP DDB and Claydon Heeley's joint venture, Jones
Mason Barton Antenen, in 1999 before returning to Claydon Heeley when
the two agencies were merged. Before launching Jones Mason he was
managing director of Claydon Heeley.
HHM has clients such as Seagram, Norwich Union, BTopenworld and
Ladbrokes.
Earlier this year it launched an interactive division, HHM>Interactive,
after acquiring the digital agency Creative IT.
Mason said: "I've been seduced by the open-mindedness and track record
of the management team at HHM - they have already built an agency of
considerable size. Their energy and willingness to challenge
conventional wisdom inspires me like Claydon Heeley did at a similar
stage in its development."
Omaid Hiwaizi, executive creative director at HHM, said: "We have hired
a leading light, somebody who can push things. Ed will bring a mixture
of flair and function to the agency."
