MatchON.com, the sports content provider, has hired 24/7 to handle
advertising sales in the UK and Finland.
The online sales house, run by managing director Carl white, will offer
banner campaigns, online sponsorships, e-commerce, direct marketing and
WAP advertising on a local and international basis.
Launched in March, MatchON focuses on English premiership football but
plans to expand into areas such as motorsport.
The site delivers facts, figures and animated action to computer
screens, WAP-enabled mobile phones and palm computers. It is hoping to
attract more than 500,000 visitors by the end of the year.
Marten Mickos, CEO of MatchON, said: ’We chose 24/7 because of its
global network and pioneering work in wireless advertising.’
Meanwhile, 24/7 has appointed two UK account managers. Angela Kohli
joins from contract publisher TPD, where she managed The Globe and
Talking Business magazines. She will work on 24/7’s shopping and
lifestyle clients such as Zoom, Top Shop, Burton and Evans.
Najine Collins, a former senior sales executive for Freecards Media and
classified group head at IPC magazines, will work on entertainment
sites, such as Channel 5 and Pearson TV.
