McCann-Erickson is building up its new-business department after

losing several senior members at the end of last year.

The agency has promoted Lindsay Wall, its account director, to the

position of new-business director. Wall, who joined McCann London from

Ammirati Puris Lintas in 1997 as an account director, will report to

Pete Turner, the agency’s new chief operating officer (Campaign, 21

January).

He replaces deputy managing director, Stuart Leach, who parted company

with the agency in December after just six months in the job.

Leach was charged with overseeing new business alongside Simon

Carpenter, new-business account director, after the departure of Terry

Martin in October.

Martin left to take up the role of managing director of Bates’ Prague

office.

Carpenter also left the agency around the same time as Leach and is now

working for the Food and Drink Awards.

Wall takes up the new role with immediate effect and will take over the

day-to-day running of the new-business effort. However, he will continue

to work on some client business, predominantly on the Cereal Partners

account.

’It is always a pleasure to promote people from within the agency,’ said

Ben Langdon, chairman and chief executive of McCann London and the

McCann-Erickson UK Group. ’Lindsay has made a significant contribution

to the success of McCann London and, alongside Pete, is part of an

impressive A Team for new business. I look forward to seeing the

results.’
