McCann Erickson team scoops November Aerial award for Clearasil spot

LONDON - McCann Erickson creative team Richard Allsop and Jana Pejovska have won the November Aerial Award for best radio ad, held in association with Campaign.

The pair's "girl gets interview" spot for Clearasil Ultra Face Wash was named best ad of the month by judge Tiger Savage, the deputy creative director at M&C Saatchi.

Runners-up were Phil Skegg, Simon Griffin and James Quail of Love for their "register" spot for the Museum of Science & Industry and M&C Saatchi team Tom Drew and Uche Ezugwu for their "X-Factor" spot for ITV1.

The winning ad features a girl worried about her spots ahead of a job interview that is three days away. She uses a high-pitched voice to repeat remarks made by a male voiceover until the spots disappear.

Savage said: "My pick of the month is perhaps not the cleverest ad of the bunch but it did make me laugh. Great use of voiceovers. Says exactly what it does on the bottle."
