McCann-Erickson's White hires former MML creative team

McCann-Erickson has hired former Mustoe Merriman Levy creative directors Paul Diver and Alan Morrice as part of its push to improve its creative reputation.

Morrice and Diver will take the title of group heads, reporting to the creative director, Luke White. No specific accounts have yet been assigned to the pair, whose appointment was finalised after their freelance work on a global UPS brief last month.

"Paul and Alan are very experienced creative people. They're grown up but still passionate about doing great work,

White said. "They're part of my plan to improve the creative product and get better people in for that. They're nice guys too, which helps."

Morrice and Diver quit MML in November last year after the former CDP creative directors, Mick Mahoney and Andy Amadeo, were brought in above them to head the department. Diver and Morrice had quit their creative director roles at Bates UK to join MML in September 1999. They subsequently picked up an IPA Effectiveness Award for the agency's work and wrote and art directed the Penguin print campaign shortlisted for a Campaign Poster award last year.

"You can see that McCann is a culture in change,

Diver said. "Luke obviously has big plans for the place. It's something that's happening at a lot of bigger agencies, like Leo Burnett, and it makes this a very exciting place to be."

McCann has also lured the junior creative team Nick Burrage and Luca Bertoluzzi, who recently completed a placement at BMP DDB.
