McCann-Erickson has enticed Trevor Pettet, the executive creative

director of Carlson Marketing Group, to be the creative head of its

corridor agency, McCann Relationship Marketing.

His hiring is seen to be a concerted effort by the group to increase its

below-the-line profile in London. Traditionally, the majority of the

group’s direct marketing has been handled by the McCann Manchester

agency, which has been brought under the MRM banner.

Pettet has been at Carlson for three years before which he had several

spells at above-the-line agencies, including Saatchi & Saatchi.

Amanda Phillips, who was drafted in from Joshua to become the managing

director of MRM, said: ’Trevor’s appointment will plug the gap between

ourselves and McCann-Erickson, which will be vital when working on

shared business. But he also has the experience, through running his own

small agency back in Australia, of being part of a small, creatively led

group.’

Ben Langdon, the UK group chairman of McCann-Erickson, said: ’The

development of MRM within the UK recognises the value of marrying

creative and CRM consultancy and delivery within an integrated brand

communications framework.’
