McCann marketing director to leave in departmental rejig

McCann-Erickson is parting company with its marketing director, Will Hamilton, in the latest shake-up of its internal departments.

McCann's new-business activity will be spread across a selection of the agency's senior account handlers. Katie Elliot is expected to take much of the overall responsibility.

The developments in the new-business department are the latest in a series of changes within the agency since it appointed Tamara Ingram as Ben Langdon's replacement as chairman last year. Ingram has restructured the agency's planning department.

The appointment of Red Cell's Julian Saunders as McCann's executive planning director was followed by the promotion of Andrew Serednyj and Cathy Sampson to the position of joint planning directors. Earlier this month, Chris Blazye, a founder of Malcolm Moore Deakin Blazye, joined them as a senior planner.
