McDonald's UK has clearly worked hard to find its place in the conversations about Christmas - and has come up with the festive car journey.
Leo Burnett London created the fast-food chain’s new campaign, which follows a family on their festive car journey (probably to visit relatives) as they punctuate a group rendition of Wizzard’s I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday with a stop at an off-motorway McDonald’s. In addition to the TV ad, McDonald’s is encouraging people to upload videos of themselves singing the same song while on their own seasonal journey to a specially made site. Those who do will have the chance to be in a Christmas Day ad to be shown during Coronation Street. Razorfish handled the digital campaign.
