Media agencies line up for TTA’s £4m business

LONDON - The Teacher Training Agency is reviewing its £4 million creative and media accounts.

The TTA, the government body responsible for recruiting and training up to 6,000 teachers a year, uses McCann-Erickson Manchester for creative and Universal McCann Manchester for media. It is also looking for a new-media agency to work on its website.

Agencies have been invited to submit information to the TTA by 6 February. One source said the TTA is asking creative and media agencies to pitch jointly.

The TTA’s agencies have been in place since April 2000. The McCann Manchester TV ad, using the line “Those who can, teach”, is currently on air.

The TTA has sent initial information to selected agencies ahead of the pitch process. However, the TTA denied there were immediate plans to change agencies.

Paul Pendleton, the head of advertising at the TTA, said: “We review all contracts from time to time but there are no current plans to change any existing contracts.”
