'I was sitting at some traffic lights on Wellington Road last Saturday when I noticed alongside me, stapled to the railings, a poster that described the railings as if they were an art installation, referring to their size, material, a reference to their political agenda and date.

'As in the nature of all good modern art, it was transitory - the poster had disappeared by Monday, but I was still persuaded to visit the britart.com site, which sells limited edition prints of modern art.'
