the Tate Gallery’s branding of Coffee Republic’s paper cups.

’Being a bit of a dozy conscript among all these life commandos, my

dependence on caffeine continues to grow. In my search for the perfect

latte, I’m tickled to find Coffee Republic in cahoots with everybody’s

favourite ’It’ gallery. Its new coffee cup, done up in Tate Modern’s

lilac and green and branded ’La Tate’, is a great piece of ambient

media.

’It’s cheap, easy and, according to Chrissie Tsalidis, our new-business

manager, plays on the long and venerable association between arthouse

and the coffee shop. Personally, I think it’s about being the name on

everyone’s lips.’
