Media: Emap's first-half profits dented by tough trading conditions

Emap said its first-half profits had been dented by tough trading conditions in France and the cost of launching magazines such as Grazia. Pre-tax profits for the six months to the end of September 2005 were £95 million, down 2 per cent on a year earlier. Turnover climbed 6 per cent to £554 million.
