Phil Teeman, a board director at The Network, Ogilvy & Mather’s
media dependant, is leaving to join the Discovery Channel as European
Teeman’s move to the cable and satellite channel comes at a time when
The Network is preparing to merge with the media department of its
sister WPP agency, J Walter Thompson, to form MindShare.
Teeman, who handles Ford’s pan-European media account, and has been with
The Network for nine years, had originally been earmarked as a possible
broadcast director of the new media venture.
Teeman’s role will involve managing relationships between Discovery and
its different sales houses, including Flextech in the UK.
