Media Week Awards 2015: Shortlist announced

The shortlist for the UK media industry's biggest night of the year - the Media Week Awards 2015 - has been announced today, with a raft of first-timers joining the fray for the top awards, including Instagram, Vice Media, Auto Trader and Newsworks.

Media Week Awards 2015: Shortlist announced

Judging at this year's Media Week Awards is being led by co-chairs Ali MacCallum, chief executive of M2M, and Anna Watkins, managing director of Guardian Labs.

Arif Durrani, editor of Media Week, said: "Always evolving and always highly competitive, this year's Media Week Awards shortlist underlines just how exciting today's British media scene has become.

"Many new names join the more established players, and a host of new categories ensure we have fully recognised the industry shift towards data, branded content and strategic creativity. However, the fundamentals around what makes for great, effective media campaigns remain.

"Well done to everyone who made the shortlist, with more than 500 entries that's no mean feat in itself. Here's looking forward to another challenging and rewarding contest."

The winners of this year's awards will now be decided during four separate days of judging involving more than 70 leaders, including the main industry day hosted this year by Trinity Mirror.

This year's Media Week Awards will be held in the Grosvenor House on 22 October.

Sales Team of the Year

Auto Trader

Last year Auto Trader reinvented itself, transforming from a traditional print sales house into a fully-fledged digital business. The change has led to a 56% growth in revenue and positioned the brand as a much more relevant and important partner for advertisers and media agencies.

Channel 4

Channel 4 is a special place with a unique remit. As a not-for-profit organisation, 70% of our revenue goes back on screen. With 95% of income coming from advertising, the sales team have a huge responsibility for the ongoing success and sustainability of C4.

Facebook

This was the year that Facebook evolved from a single brand to a family of apps and services. We’ve helped the UK industry understand the potential of people-based marketing and make the concept of "personalisation at scale" a reality.

ITV

In a year of election proimises, it's good to see someone who's actually delivered on their 5-year manifesto! This has been another year of record-breaking performance, whilst staying true to our plan of exceeding our 2010 strategy.

JCDecaux

After JCDecaux became runner up for the third time in Media Week Awards 2014, we are more deterined than ever to prove an outdoor compay can win these awards.

The Telegraph

In a market going only one way, the Telegraph had the bravery to reinvent itself, getting a different result. Creating a culture which is nimble and embraces change, ideas are welcome from everywhere.
