MEDIA: ZEITGEIST - An i-mate Pocket PC Phone can do everything but give you a more interesting life

Gadget geeks in the US are already raving about the Xda II, launched over there as the i-mate Pocket PC Phone last month. You might not be able to watch Premiership football on it, but you can do just about everything else.

As its US name suggests, it can operate as a pocket PC, with an awesome amount of fast processing power given the size of the thing. And its communications capabilities are becoming a must-have for busy people on the move. Bluetooth technology not only gives you access to your e-mail but it gives you lightning-fast connection to the internet. In colour.

If that wasn't enough, there's games and video access. And obviously it incorporates a digital camera too. The only thing it won't do for you is get you a life.

Oh, yes, and you can use it as a phone too. In fact, given the fact that it has US tri-band capability, you can use it as a phone almost everywhere.

The kit: Xda II

Available: An official UK launch date is expected soon

Price: $828 in the US

What it does: Phone, internet, e-mail, pocket PC
