Media: Zeitgeist - JWT alumna hopes to follow long-copy achievements of Amis, Weldon and Rushdie

A copywriter turning their hand to fiction? We haven't had one of those for a while and, with due respect to the former DDB London creative Paul Burke (now a novelist), no-one up there in the class of Fay Weldon and Salman Rushdie. J. Walter Thompson claims Martin Amis among its alumni but we're not convinced about that one. Anyway, we can add a new name to the list: Meg Rosoff. A previous employee of both Ogilvy & Mather and JWT, her first novel, How I Live Now, is either being published to great acclaim or we've been paying too much attention to the publisher's blurb. It's the story of two children and how they unite against the world when their perfect summer is torn apart by the outbreak of war.

Anyway, judge for yourself. It will soon be available via Amazon and is already posted on the site.
